Giving out Shite

This just struck me as one of the most unique irish phrases.

Often heard being muttered across the land by disgruntled youths and ancients alike “they were givin’ out shite to me”

Non-Irish people might be heard to exclaim:

“Really? Were they? What a curious thing to do! Surely that’s some sort of fetish?”

even google is questioning my googling abilities and asking if i am sure I did not mean

“giving out white” which – if you think about it – is even more curious a turn of words and reminds me of a story I once heard about how a  club in Peru do some inhouse promotions.

No google, I’m pretty sure I meant what I typed. They’re now directing me to related searches which deliciously enough include “shit through mouth”. Ah – fecal vomit. How does it always come to this?
